Say YES to change

It is not in our instinct to like change;
- Loss of control
- Excess uncertainty
- Concerns about competence
Essentially we are tipping up our certainty bucket, emptying it and having to refill our bucket - starting new routines, creating new habits...
In my favorite example, study participants were given a piece of European chocolate. It was described to them as having first been sold in its region either 73 years ago or 3 years ago. Guess which group rated the chocolate as better-tasting.
The bottom line is, unconsciously we all believe that longevity = goodness. However, change is GREAT, it is an opportunity to develop yourself.
Having worked in the financial sector for a few years in London, coming home to Oxford and starting Oxford Babysitters has been FANTASTIC but equally scary, worried about the 'what ifs'!
